Press Operations Functional Area (FA) is responsible for providing all the facilities and media services to accredited print journalists, photographers and non-right holders to ensure seamless functioning of the media during the Games.
The Media Guide is available online on this website and is being updated regularly as we move closer to the Games. The information about media accreditation, accommodation, Media Rate Card is already online on the D2010 website. Press Operations will co-ordinate with all other relevant functional areas to ensure seamless delivery of services at the Main Press Centre (MPC) and at all Venue Media Centres (VMCs).
Our key functions are:
* Main Press Centre: Creating a central work place for the accredited press (print, photographers and non-rights holding broadcasters) providing telecommunications, results and information, central services and press conference rooms.
* Venue Media Centres: Providing press and photo work areas at competition venues.
* Photo Service: Providing accredited still photographers with work area photo positions and telecommunication requirements.
* Media Services: Facilitating accreditation, accommodation, transportation, catering and Media Rate Card.
* Games News Service: Providing editorial content for the Games Information System (GIS) including accurate athlete biographies and past performance statistics, which provides real support time results as well as news, background and information on the Games.
